Takashi Otomo
MPP ’17, GPA Certificate: Global Processes & Institutions
Takashi has obtained his bachelor’s degree in economics from the Yokohama National University, Japan in 2008, and joined the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport & Tourism (MLIT), Japan as a government officer after his graduation. He was assigned to the Automobile bureau and in charge of the international harmonization of vehicle regulation and certification system. Specifically, his main duty was negotiations to strengthen the connection with Asian countries in activities for a world forum for harmonization of vehicle regulations.
From his work experience, his concentration in the MPP program is improving international systems to promote the cross-border movement of people and goods. He is pursuing a GPA certificate in Global Processes and Institutions to deepen his understanding about how to shape the globalization from a field of transportation. After graduation, Takashi will work for the MLIT utilizing skills and knowledge acquired from the program in a transportation policy.
