Andre Comandon

MPP’ 16, GPA Certificate: Global Urbanization and Regional Development

Andre is a Master in Urban and Regional Planning student with a concentration in Regional and International Development and an interest in policy research and analysis. He applies his knowledge of International Economics, Ethnic and Gender Politics, and Quantitative Methods to gain better insight into how housing can make cities more inclusive and equitable. Most of his work focuses on the African continent, particularly South Africa and Nigeria, but he regularly looks at other places for inspiration and a broader understanding of the many connections that influence how cities function.

He completed internships at Idasa in Pretoria doing research to support a community development program and, more recently, at the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development in Paris doing research on international housing policy. He also participated in the Urban Humanities Initiative which brought him, for a short time, to Shanghai. He grew up in France, an ideal place to start questioning what inclusion means.
