Topics in History: Latin America: Environmental Historiography of Latin America

Main focus is 19th and 20th century, but study also stretches back into past eras, and explores current and future issues. Examination of series of familiar overarching themes in Latin American history (imperialism, populism, economic booms, industrialization, democracy), through unique lenses of environmental approach. Study covers wide variety of geographies, from Mexico to Chile; and goes from local to national to global. Designed for those interested in global environment, environmental history, and history of modern Latin America.
