MURP ’16, Fellow to Center for Environmental Planning and Technology University
Cally (MURP ’16) is completing a concentration in Design and Development, with a particular interest in housing affordability, participatory design, and the role of public space in urban communities. This summer, she will travel to Ahmedabad, India to work on a Gender-Inclusive Urban Development project commissioned by CEPT University and UN Women. The project examines gender as a lens to emphasize the need for development to incorporate grassroots perspectives to bring about more empowering and equitable urban realities in India. By expanding her awareness of the unique issues facing women in India, she hopes to bring an intersectional understanding of inclusive development into her future planning research and practice.
Prior to attending UCLA, Cally earned her BA in Political Economy at UC Berkeley.
