Diego De La Peza
MPP ’17, International Practice Pathway Fellow
Diego is an incoming second year in the Masters of Public Policy Program. His policy interest lies in international policy, health policy, and the intersection of both. Diego graduated from UCLA in 2015 with a B.A. in Geography and two minors in Global Studies and Public Affairs. Before beginning his internship abroad, Diego interned at Alternatives Behavioral Treatment Clinic, where he conducted research on the impact of using breathalyzers to assess the progress of patients seeking treatment for their alcohol dependency.
Diego will be traveling to the Dominican Republic, where he will be interning as part of the IPP program. He will be aiding in research conducted by the Instituto de Sexualidad Humana. He will be conducting research with the aim of proposing better policies to address the way in which primary care physicians respond to sexual violence. He will also be analyzing the institute’s patient data base in order to recommend alternatives to increase retention amongst patients in order to increase healthy and safe sexual practices.
