Chen Cheng
MPP 16, GPA Certificate: Global Institutions & Processes
Chen was born and raised in Beijing, China. She studied abroad in the United States when she was sixteen. She completed her B.A. degree in Communication and International Relations at UC Davis and received Department Citations from both departments. She is currently a candidate of Master’s of Public Policy at UCLA Luskin, focusing on International Policy.
Chen’s international background has helped her gain opportunities to work for global events with great influence. She participated in the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games’ Opening Ceremony as a cheerleader and worked as a Secretary of Publicity for the Second Youth Olympic Games (YOG) Opening Ceremony in summer 2014. Chen pursues a GPA certificate in Global Institutions and Processes to help her broaden the scope of understanding international issues and international institutions.
Chen’s interest in international trade policies, particularly between China and United States, encourages her to expose herself to the cutting edge of policy analysis field. Following graduation, Chen would like to work as a policy analyst or a Public Information Officer in international institutions concerning Asian developments. She is also open to working in public relations industries and other private sectors.
