Sea-level rise threatens cities and communities worldwide. Exploration of unprecedented challenges facing planners, government, and people affected across diverse contexts; plus responses arising from realms including urban design, finance, development, social movements, law, policy, ecology, art, and cultural production. Introduction to science and history of sea-level rise. Focus on current issues and debates around climate migration, displacement, and gentrification; flood insurance; environmental justice; green and grey infrastructure; managed retreat; disasters; resilience; and climate change mitigation, adaptation, and denial.
